PDF FLINT provides tools for password protection, permissions, unlocking, redaction, sanitization, archival conversion, redaction checks, and audit trails. Processing depends on the selected tool: some operations run locally, while others send the PDF to a server. Review each tool’s processing details before uploading sensitive documents.
Select the tool and read its limits before adding your document.
Enter passwords, set permission flags, mark redaction regions or choose archival settings in the appropriate tool.
Keep the original. Check the result and any relevant validation before sharing or archiving.
Protect PDF creates an AES-256 encrypted copy using the supplied passwords.
Redaction reconstructs pages to remove selected visible regions; inspect all sensitive areas afterward.
Permissions, sanitization and redaction checks address different document properties.
PDF/A conversion targets selected archival profiles; validate the required profile and review the result.
Use Protect PDF, enter an opening password and optionally a separate owner password, then download and test the encrypted copy. Use PDF Permissions for custom printing, copying and editing flags.
Use Unlock PDF with the correct password for a document you are authorized to access. Review the downloaded unlocked copy.
No. Covering or cropping can leave original content recoverable. The redaction tool reconstructs pages with selected regions removed. Inspect the result carefully; a limited check cannot certify that every sensitive item has been removed.
PDF/A profiles are intended for archival preservation. Choose the required supported profile, validate conformance with a suitable validator and inspect appearance before relying on the result.
Redaction Check reports limited text and metadata indicators. It does not inspect every hidden object or prove complete removal. Review sensitive pages and use additional checks appropriate to your document.
